When large groups of travelers descend upon a hotel, either as a tour group, charter or for a convention, hotel staff must manage the mountain of luggage that comes along with them.  The same holds true when they depart.  Many hotels find that setting up a temporary luggage storage area allows them to keep the area secure and out of sight, while staff sort through and make arrangements for the transfer of luggage.
