Hide Metal Shelving Units in Library
The Solution
It’s no secret that kids like to play with anything they can get their hands on. A storage shelf with toys or art supplies for instance can be a gold mine for little hands. At Winona Public Library, they had a metal shelving unit at the back of their Story Time Room used to hold a lot of stuff. These shelves were exposed and out in the open creating easy access for their littles ones. Our contact at WPL then was wondering to herself, ‘how do I hide my storage when kids use the room?’ She decided to use Screenflex Portable Room Dividers as a temporary shield.
As you can see from the before and after pictures, only one divider covers the front of the shelving unit. The portable wall is sturdy enough to deter wanderers should they try to see whats on the other side. The locking corner casters help hold the partition in its place as well. Another good reason Screenflex Dividers are a great way to hide storage is how they fold accordion-style. When one of the library staff needs to get something from behind the temporary wall, they can easily fold up either the whole thing or just the section needed. Overall, this divider helped limit distractions during their story time for a smooth event every time.
